Mr. Anthony Acquah

Mr. Anthony Acquah is currently the Director of Standards and Compliance of the National Pensions Regulatory Authority. He is a seasoned and professional accountant with over 25 years of experience in Finance, Insurance, Audit, and Financial Consulting in both the public and private sectors, and over a decade as a Chief Finance Officer in the insurance industry. His vast array of knowledge and skills in finance and leadership have positioned him as a pivot in accelerating organisations’ financial performance and accountability by providing guidance and advice to organisations.   With a strong foundation in Management Accounting and Audit, he has established himself as one of the astute Chief Finance Officers in the Insurance industry.

Mr. Acquah is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants (ICAG), Ghana, the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), and an Accredited Management Accountant (AMA) from the Global Academy of Finance and Management (GAFM). He holds a Master of Business Administration from Accra Business School, an affiliate of KNUST, Bachelor of Science Administration in Accounting from the University of Ghana Business School.

Mr. Acquah has spent most of his professional career in the insurance industry, working with Metropolitan Insurance where he spent over a decade of dedicated service rising through the ranks to become the Manager for Finance and Accounts responsible for Financial and Management Reporting. His sense of judgment and work ethics ensured that the company met all its financial and tax obligations as well as ensuring that the financial position of the company was on track with its budget and expenditure.

He later joined Prime Insurance as Chief Finance Officer, responsible for general administration, finance and Credit Control, Investment as well as Management and Administration of Provident Funds.  

With immense expertise wealth of knowledge in the insurance industry and finance, he became Group General Manager of MIC Group of Companies in 2015 where is successfully changed the fortunes of the company to become one of the competitive group companies. He joined Loyalty Insurance Company Ltd. in 2017 as Chief Finance Officer when the company was granted license to operate non-life insurance business, responsible for ensuring the sound financial positioning of the company.

In 2018, Mr. Acquah joined Serene Insurance Ltd. where he spent four years as Chief Finance Officer helping the company to remain one of the best insurance companies in the Country.

Before joining the Authority, he was an Audit Manager with O2 and Associates from mid-year 2022, where he provided consulting services in Audit, Business Risk Analysis, institutional controls, and policy compliance to organisations.
