Deputy Director, Internal Audit

The first Internal Auditor of the National Pensions Regulatory Authority (NPRA), Mr. Gyabaah Anane, has over nineteen years of professional experience across the pensions, banking, and health sectors. He has led the NPRA’s Internal Audit Unit for the past eleven years, providing strategic direction in audit planning, risk management, and organisational compliance.

Before joining the Authority, he held managerial and operational roles in the banking sector, including serving as Agency Manager at Barclays Bank Ghana, with a cumulative six years of experience across the KNUST and Kumasi Central Market Agencies, and the head office. He also served as an Accountant at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital for two years.

Mr. Anane is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA), a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana (ICAG), and a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), Ghana. He holds an MBA in Finance from the University of Leicester, UK, and has over twelve years of post-qualification experience.

Throughout his career, Mr. Anane has been instrumental in strengthening internal audit frameworks, streamlining control processes, and enhancing financial transparency within complex institutional settings. Known for his analytical rigor, integrity, and leadership, he combines technical proficiency with practical insights to support NPRA’s commitment to ensuring good governance, transparency, and accountability.
