Remiel Addo Akorli is a distinguished pension regulatory expert and financial governance professional with over two decades of experience in pension supervision, regulatory policy, risk-based compliance, and fund administration across Ghana and the United Kingdom. She currently serves as Director of Licensing & Registration at the National Pensions Regulatory Authority (NPRA), having previously held senior management positions including Deputy Director of the same Directorate. In her current role, she provides strategic leadership in policy formulation, regulatory oversight, and enforcement of licensing standards for regulated pension entities across the industry.
She holds an MA in Financial Markets Law and Regulation from the University of Ghana and an MSc in Accounting & Finance from the University of Northampton, which together anchor her technical proficiency in financial regulation and oversight. Her broader managerial outlook, strengthened by an MBA in General Management from Sheffield Hallam University, enhances her ability to guide complex stakeholder engagements and institutional reforms.
Throughout her tenure at NPRA, Mrs. Addo Akorli has been instrumental in developing licensing frameworks, operational guidelines, and compliance oversight procedures, promoting good governance and transparency across the pensions sector.
Beyond her local professional contributions, she has undertaken extensive international training in private pension supervision, risk-based regulation, corporate governance, compliance, and financial crime prevention in the USA, UK, UAE, Indonesia, and Italy. These experiences equip her with a solid understanding of global best practices and their application in emerging pension markets.
